Anna Ardella Allender of Loveland, formerly of Longmont, died Nov. 21, 2003, at North Shore Health Care Facility in Loveland. She was 103. She was born Jan. 25, 1900, to Benjamin and Mary Susan High Casey in Baxter, Mo., and moved to Longmont by covered wagon with her family for her father's health. She married Ralph Lee Sikes in Boulder on May 24, 1920. Mr. Sikes died in 1934 in an auto accident near Modesto, Calif. She then married William Garner on March 26, 1939. Mr. Garner died on June 9, 1942. She then married Albert Allender on May 30, 1947, in Clayton, N.M. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1967.Mrs. Allender worked at Model Laundry in Longmont for many years, retiring at the age of 70. She enjoyed being at home, attending church and knitting. She is survived by a son, Lawrence Sikes and wife Catherine of Loveland; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Highbe of Golden Valley, N.D.; two stepdaughters, Ruth Lemmon of Longmont and Elenor Lieding of Boise, Idaho; one brother, Chester Casey of Berryville, Ark.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her three husbands; a son, Donald Sikes, in January 1987; six sisters; and three brothers. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday at Lewellen Longmont Memorial Chapel, 503 Terry St. in Longmont. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Baldassare of the First Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
