James F. McCain, 87, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Dykes, 338 Sumner street, Wednesday night. He had been in poor health for the past six months.
Mr. McCain was born in Hickory County, Missouri, February 14, 1859, and moved to Hygiene, Colorado, in 1919. He returned to Missouri in 1923 and came to Longmont to make his home in 1944, as a retired farmer.
The deceased is survived by two sons, Andrew J. McCain, M.D., Fayetteville, Arkansas, and James L. [sic-F.] McCain, Lyons, Colorado; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Anderson, Connersville, Indiana; Mrs. Mary Warren, Los Angeles, California; and Mrs. Ethel L. Dykes of Longmont. One brother, William A. McCain, Lexington, Missouri, and one sister, Mrs. Eliza H. Brown, Preston, Missouri, also survive. His wife died in 1936 [sic-1935].
