She attended North Texas Agriculture College in Arlington, TX and taught drama and expression at the Thompson School of Fine Arts. She was member of the Woman's Club of Ft. Worth and was a charter member and organizer of the Nautilus Club. She graduated from Diamond Hill High School in 1926. She married Carl H. Hayden, May 16, 1929.

ARLINGTON - Sophia Clark Hayden, 89, a homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Brent Clark Dickey, James H. Blackwell, Curtis L. Dickey, Dr. Alan Clark, Lawrence Riddle III and Eric M. Dickey.

Honorary pallbearers: Beattie C. Clark, Douglas C. Clark, Ross Eugene Dickey, Worth C. Clark, Douglas Delong and David E. Clark.

Sophia Clark Hayden, wife of the late Carl H. Hayden, was born April 20, 1908, in Fort Worth. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and the Rebecca Sunday School Class. She attended North Texas Agriculture College in Arlington, Texas, and taught drama and expression at the Thompson School of Fine Arts. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Fort Worth and was a charter member and organizer of the Nautilus Club. She graduated from Diamond Hill High School in 1926.

Survivors: Brother, Worth Douglas Clark of Arlington; and sister, Constance Clark Roberts of Arlington.
