Roxie Jewel Anderson, 89, of Sidney, Neb., died Monday afternoon at Beverly Health Care in Sidney.

Mrs. Anderson was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Trenton, Mo., the daughter of Charles Edward and Mary Anna (Hamilton) Baker. She was married May 25, 1933, to Floyd "Bud" E. Anderson at El Dorado Springs, Mo. They lived in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska. They farmed for many years around Akron and held many other jobs.

In 1961, she returned to high school graduating from Akron High School. After the death of her husband in 1980, she lived alone in Max, Neb., for 10 years before moving to Sidney, making her home with her daughter.

Survivors include her children, Floyd Anderson of Log Lane Village, Robert Anderson of South Carolina and Betty J. Powell of Sidney; one brother, George Baker of New Mexico; one sister, Betty Tryner of Texas; 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, five sisters and two grandsons.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Akron Cemetery in Akron with Rev. Kelly Cupples officiating.

Holechek Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
