Relatives and friends received telegrams that John Renner of La Crosse, Kans., had died this morning at 1:00 o'clock. Mr. Renner was born in Richland township 87 years ago last June. He was a Civil War veteran. Mr. Renner and family moved to Kansas 40 or 45 years ago, but returned for occasional visits. Mrs. Renner died a few years ago. Mr. Renner was a brother of Mrs. Elizabeth Barker of Strasburg, she being the last of several brothers and sisters. Windsor Gazette, Windsor, IL [Shelby Co., IL] - 1 Dec 1931

Son of Samuel and Martha Renner was born in Shelby County, Ill on June 9, 1844. He was married to Kizziah Richman who was born on July 4, 1850. They were married on April 11, 1869 in Windsor, Ill. They came to Sumner County, Ks in 1873. They went back to Ill and then came back to Ks and settled in Rush County in 1887. John died on Dec 1, 1931 and Kizziah on Apr 1, 1928
