Stone, David M.-Age 42 years. Enlisted, August 21, 1862, at Bolivar, New York, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. A, 136th New York Inf., September 26, 1862; mustered out with detachment, June 8, 1865, from Sickles Hospital, Alexandria, Va., at Washington, D.C.

Newspaper clipping with date May 27 1902 added:
David M. Stone a veteran of the Civil War died suddenly yesterday morning, of heart failure.
He enlisted in Co. A 136 N.Y. Volunteers Aug. 21 1863 and was honorably discharged June 6 1865. He joined Eagle Post in Eau Claire in 1883. He was 82 years old at the time of his death. He leaves a wife, one son Robert Stone a sawyer with the Dells Lumber and Shingle co., one son in California, and 2 daughters, Mrs. Bonesteel of this city and Mrs. Aldworth of the town of Wheaton. He was a member of Lake St. Meth. E. Church. He will be buried by the G.A.R. from the family residence 610 Grand Ave. West. The deceased was a very worthy person, kind and obliging, and was much respected by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
