BELTON — Harold E. Heartfield, 86, of Belton died Thursday, Oct. 28, in a Temple nursing home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton with the Rev. Darren Walker and the Rev. John Roark officiating.

Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.

Mr. Heartfield was born on Nov. 23, 1923, to Edmond H. and Nannie Lusk Heartfield in Temple. He was a 1941 graduate of Belton High School. On Dec. 11, 1943, he married Hattie Lou Barnes in Belton. He worked at Camp Hood and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as superintendent of mails at the Belton Post Office. He worked in the family business, Heartfield Funeral Home, retiring in 1984. He designed the chapel for the funeral home and had it built by Bucky Wilson. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belton and American Legion Post No. 55. He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 4, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Heartfield and Kenneth Heartfield, both of Belton; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
