David W. Spratt and his wife held ' open house' almost all year 'round....his brothers and sisters and their families returned to the homestead for childrens births; they sent their children for summer fun: came to be cared for in times of illness and sorrow.....This was the house that had a Family Wing for the older generation, and so there was plenty of room for all.
