JESSE L. PITCHER PASSES AT GROVE

COTTAGE GROVE, April 22- (SPECIAL) - Funeral services for Jesse (Tad) Pitcher, who died Wednesday forenoon, will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Mills chapel and Rev. Duncan P. Cameron of the First Presbyterian church will officiate. Interment will be in the Shields cemetery. Members of the Eagles lodge, of which Mr. Pitcher was a member, will be pallbearers and the lodge will be in charge or part of the funeral services. This is the first death in the lodge here.

Physicians are puzzled as to the cause of death. Pitcher was an employee in the Kerr logging camp and just after stopping work Monday he fell unconscious and never regained consciousness. It is thought that some kind of poison may have caused death.

Jesse Loren Pitcher was born in this vicinity June 1, 1895, and has always made his home here. He was a son of Alpha (Doc) Pitcher, a pioneer of this section. He is a nephew of Chief of Police Green Pitcher of this city and there are several other uncles and relatives. Five brothers, Walter, John, Thomas Harold, Darrell and Otto Pitcher, and one sister, Dolly Pitcher, survive.
