The youngest of four children of Michael and Josephine (Gunderson) Siegle, she was born Oct. 26, 1896, in Fergus Falls. She attended Barnard School in rural Underwood and also graduated from Moorhead State Normal Teachers College. At the age of 17, she started teaching school in North Dakota and later in the Barnesville and Sabin area. During World War I she taught school in Canada. She returned to the Henning and Vining area and taught there. Next, she operated a grocery store in Duluth for a short time and then she returned to teach in the Maine and Underwood area.
On Feb. 23, 1940, she and Harold Lund were married in Underwood. She continued to teach in the Pelican Rapids and Rothsay schools. Later they moved to Rush City and she taught there until they moved to Minneapolis, where she taught elementary school for 16 years. In 1972, they moved to Underwood.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Jeanette) Munson; Richfield, and Mrs. Selvin (Connie) Rovelstad, Underwood; one son, Leonard of Underwood; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be all day Thursday and Friday at Glende-Johnson Nelson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls and resume at the church one hour prior to services Saturday.
