Retired ORGDP mechanic

Charles Alton Bradley, 72, of 107 Iris Circle, died of cancer at 1:25 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mr.Bradley had been employed for 37 years as a mechanic at Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant. He retired in 1983.

Born in Blount County, Mr.Bradley moved to Oak Ridge in the 1940s. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European theater. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Mr.Bradley is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia Riggs Bradley; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Charles and Jennifer Bradley of Chattanooga; and a grandson, Jason Robert Bradley, also of Chattanooga.

Other survivors include two brothers, Alvin Bradley and Luke Bradley Jr., both of Alcoa; and four sisters, Margaret Payne and mamie Sue Best, both of maryville, Anna Mae Hickman of Alcoa and Zula Michelle of Braden, Fla.

The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral home.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
