Deceased Name: Obituary: Melvina Elizabeth Urry Dust

Melvina Elizabeth Urry Dust died May 6, 2001 at Sandy Regional Health Center, Sandy Utah.
She was born March 2, 1906 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Herbert Henry Urry and Jane Elizabeth Maxwell. She married Robert Gillespie Dust in the Salt Lake Temple on May 14, 1924. He died October 20. 1966.

As a member of the LDS Church she taught Jr. Seminary Book of Mormon at Blaine Jr. High for three years, also taught Sunday School, and served on the South Salt Lake Sunday School Board. She served in Relief Society 25 continuous years, part of this time was seven years in Stake Relief Society as counselor and 10 1/2 years as Stake Relief Society president. She sang in choirs at many General Conferences.

She was active in community affairs including: Granite Park Lady Lions, DUP, voter registrar for 30 years and election judge. She worked in PTA until all her children finished school. She always loved and served her family and always put them first in her life.

She loved gardening and tended her yard filled with beautiful flowers until her late 80's. She loved her dogs and always fed the birds who visited her gardens.

Preceded in death by her husband, son Robert Lawrence and grand-daughter, DeAnn Dust.

She is survived by four daughters, Jeanne Weaver of Joshua Tree, CA, LaVonne Hertig of Las Vegas, NV, Judy (Dan) Orullian and Marilyn (Bill) Sheldon of Salt Lake City, Utah; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 10, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Larkin Sunset Garden Mortuary Chapel, 10600 S. 1700 E., Sandy, Utah where friends may call from 9:30-11 prior to the service.
Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
