Berry Carter Bond passed away at his home just east of town Tuesday morning, February 10th 1920, after a lingering illness of asthma. He was 82 years of age.

In his earlier days he was a prominent school teacher of Cole County and also surveyor of that county for a number of years.

He is survived by the wife who was Miss roan Allee before her marriage to Mr. Bond, also seven children by a previous marraige, four of who reside in Oklahoma and three, two daughters and son son, near this place. Only one son, Clark, was able to be present at the funeral owing to illness in their families.

Mr. Bond was a membr of the Olean Christian Church and wss always a willing worker until failing health in his declining years rendered him unable to attend church.

Interment was made in the Masonic Cemetery at Mt. Pleasant, under the suspices of the Olean Masonic Lodge.
