Born in Canastota on Dec. 20, 1932, he was the son of John and Lula Strobel Anderson. A lifelong resident of the area, Andy was educated in Canastota schools. He married Mary Parmeter in Peterboro on May 24, 1958. Mary died on Aug. 12, 2010.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Anderson was employed with various trucking firms. He served with United States Air Force during the Korean War. Andy was a member of the Oneida Post No. 169 and the Munnsville Post No. 54 of the American Legion for more than 40 eight years and a former member of the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Dale A. and Marie E. Anderson of Oneida; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Wayne and Mary Ann Anderson of Hiawassee, Ga., Archie Anderson of Clockville and Roger and Brenda Anderson of Clay; one sister, Viola Zwiefelhofer of Bloomer, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Sunnyside Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, 260 Main St., Oneida. Contributions in his memory may be made to Merrillsville Cemetery Association, c/o Dawn Ranz, RD 1, Box 271, Oneida, NY 13421.
