Mary Emma Lucas Anderson, the daughter of Charles Lucas and Nancy Pullen, was born on April 1, 1864 in Kentucky.

At the time of the 1880 Census of Sand Spring, Grayson County, Kentucky the Charles Lucas household consisted of: Chas., a farmer, age 46; his wife Nancy, a house keeper, age 43; and their daughters: Mary E., age 17; and Savilla, age 10. Living with the family was their daughter Martha Quigins, a widowed house keeper, age 21; and Rusaaw Quigina, a laborer, age 17. All were born in Kentucky with their parents born in Kentucky.

Mary Emma Lucas was the wife of James Calvin Anderson, the son of Lewis Andrew Anderson and Mary Permelia Nash. He was born on October 6, 1860.

Mary Emma Anderson died on March 1, 1936. She was buried in the Shrewsbury Cemetery in Shrewsbury, Grayson County, Kentucky. Her husband join her there after his death on January 8, 1941. Their son Hubert "Hub" Anderson was buried there after his death on May 23, 1960.
