Lee Evans, 51, of Montana, Kansas, died at 6:40 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010, at his home following a courageous battle with heart disease and cancer.
He was born November 4, 1958, in Parsons, Kansas, to Paul and Marian (Mael) Evans. He grew up in Parsons where he attended schools. He served in the United States Army and also the Army Reserve for nine years.
Through the years he operated a tree service, worked as a self-employed mechanic, worked in maintenance for Price's Rentals and also farmed. He had been disabled the past eleven years.
He enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, a perfect father to his children and adoring grandfather to his grandchildren.
He and Patricia "Patty" Haskew were married February 10, 1979. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: Two Sons – David Haskew and wife, Donna Parsons, KS Paul Evans of the home Two Daughters – Mary Evans Labette, KS Marsha Evans of the home Fifteen Grandchildren – David James Haskew, II; Tyler Sylvester Haskew, Sarah Lee-Ann Evans, Ethan Edward Alan Evans, Chase Douglas Evans, Korene Nicole Veenstra, Heather Paige Tirrell, Leah Fay-Christine Tirrell, Grace Nicole Tirrell, Zachary Thomas Tirrell, Cora Mae Evans, Amelia Marie Evans, Breanna Deann Evans, Aaron Shane McBeth, Jr., and Cassie Jo Smith Two Brothers – James Evans and wife, Tonya Parsons, KS Leon Evans and wife, Helen Parsons, KS Two Sisters – Rita Garretson and husband, Glenn Parsons, KS Barbara Clark and husband, Ray Dover, AR Brother-in-law – Harold Sayer Dover, AR Sister-in-law – Janice Evans Parsons, KS Numerous Nieces and Nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Hubert "Sonny" Evans; three sisters, Judy Sayer, Dottie Addis, and Viva Price; son-in-law, Aaron McBeth, on October 7, 2009; and one niece, Cindy Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery near Montana. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
