He was first buried at the Liberty Christian Church (Norris) Cemetery and later moved to the Denny Cemetery on the Denny farm in the orchard to be next to his wife Dorothy.

There is conflicting information for Samuel Denny's death date. The Denny Genealogy Book Three page 47 and 48 lists death as 17 Oct 1844. Pioneer Pickings No. 150; The Salem Democrat; 22 May 1878 page 243 lists death 27 Sep 1844. Washington County, Indiana, Washington Township Cemeteries page 169 lists death 27 Sep 1844. His headstone has the birth date as 14 Aug 1786 and the death date is buried in the dirt but probably matches what is in the cemetery book. No death records were kept at the time of his death and all published information was written over 34 years after his death. Since Samuel and Dorothy are my 4th great grandparents I would like to know which dates are correct but we may never know. More information on the Denny Family can be found in the listed books.
