R. MacDonald, aged 84, died at his home in Trinity Saturday evening at 6 o'clock, after having suffered a stroke of paralysis. His son here, E.C. MacDonald, and the latter's daughter, Mrs. Edwina Lankford, of Houston, were with him when the end came. Mr. MacDonald happened to be in Houston Friday when he received the message that his father was stricken, and he and Mrs. Lankford immediately left for Trinity. The funeral occurred at 4 p.m. Sunday, the other members of the family here attending, as well as many relatives and friends from other places.

The deceased had lived in Trinity all of his life, and had amassed a nice property in and around that place. He was bereft of his wife about 12 years ago, and since then had always been a victim of melancholia. He is survived by three children, two sons and a daughter. They are E.C. MacDonald of Richmond, Alec MacDonald of Trinity, and Mrs. L.D. Garrison of Corpus Christi. He also leaves six grandchildren: Mrs. Edwina Lankford and Richard MacDonald of Houston, Mrs. Geo. Stewart of Lake Charles, La., Miss Teet MacDonald of Richmond, Miss Mary Elizabeth MacDonald of Trinity and Donald Garrison of Corpus Christi, and two little great-grandchildren: Martha Mae Lankford of Richmond and Patricia MacDonald of Houston.
