Mr. Poole retired from Tultex and farmed also. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where he was an usher for many years. He served in the US Army Air Corp during the Korean War.
Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his brother, Victor William Poole and six sisters, Rosa Mae Whitlow, Mary Knott, Jean Cheesman, Hazeline Poole, Blanche Wilson and Estelle Schumam.
Mr. Poole is survived by his son, Ronald Poole, of Sumter, SC and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Donald Daniel. Burial will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.
