LeRoy M. Haag, 86, Coulee Dam passed away peacefully Monday, October 11, 2010, at Lincoln County Hospital in Davenport, Washington.

He was born on the original Haag homestead in Olpe, Kansas, on August 22, 1924, to Mike and Margaret (Schroer) Haag, the second of fourteen children.

LeRoy joined the U.S. Navy in 1943, receiving the Victory Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal prior to his honorable discharge in 1946, as a Seaman First Class and proud World War II veteran.

LeRoy retired from the Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation in 1982 after 30 years of service as an electrician.

He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6268, American Legion #342, Fraternal Order of the Eagles 2577, The Knights of Columbus, Patrol Craft Sailors Association, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He served as a past District Commander of V.F. W. Washington and was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church.

LeRoy enjoyed playing golf, salmon fishing, deer hunting, raising horses, and dancing. He loved to visit with anyone and everyone. He spent many hours on his front porch talking with family and friends and waving to every car passing by.

LeRoy married Thelma Naomi Brown in 1950. They had three children Greg, Gary, and Brenda. She preceded him in death in 1973. He married Rose Lorraine (Kinzer) Corrigan in 1974. They spent time traveling to Germany in 1982 and also to Alaska. They were Arizona "snowbirds" and loved dancing. She preceded him in death in 2009.

He was also preceded in death by his parents Mike and Margaret Haag, five brothers: Walter, Herbert, Floyd, Ivan, & Earl and two sisters: Vera & Helen.

Survivors include two sons Greg & (Nita) Haag and Gary & (Lindi) Haag both of Coulee Dam, one daughter Brenda Haag, Phoenix, Arizona, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers Glen Haag and Larry Haag of Olpe, Kansas; four sisters Norma (Haag) Bluma, Emporia, Kansas; Maurine (Haag) Hilding, McKinney, Texas; Lola (Haag) Kresin, Topeka, Kansas; LaVonne (Haag) Hayes, LeComton, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 11 a.m., at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Grand Coulee. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 6, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Olpe, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center
