Mrs. Emma Kitchens
Was Laid To Rest
Thursday, June 16

Services were conducted last Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Emma C. Kitchens, 75, one of the oldest and most beloved resdients of Lanett, the last rites being said by Rev. J. D. Dollar, assisted by Rev. Lawrence Stanley. Burial was in the Lanett Cemetery.

Mrs. Kitchens was born in Chambers county, and for the past 40 years had lived in Lanett. Here husband preceded her to the grave 27 years ago. She had been a member of the church for 60 years and was actively identified with the Congregational Christian fellowship in Lanett.

Surviving are the following childrern: Mrs. John Elder, E. C. Hilliard, Lee, Whit, Howard, and Mrs. Leola Cranford, all of Lanett; W. K. Kitchens of Chipley, M. C. Kitchens, of Cuthbert, Ga., Mrs. L. V. Hamel of Atlanta, a brother T. L. Dunn of Lanett; a sister Mrs. Lula Taylor of Madison, Ga.; 38 grandchildren ; 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of Johnson and Blakely.
