BALLARD— Charlene Faye Mounts-Swimm, 79, formerly of Pads Fork, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at her home.

Born Dec. 7, 1930, at Twin Branch, she was the daughter of the late Kathleen Mounts-Fleenor (1911-2002) and was raised by her grandparents, the late Sink Raymond Mounts (Deceased) and Annie Crawford-Mounts (Deceased).

Janice was an active member of the Pineville Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed reading her Bible, was an accomplished seamstress and cherished and enjoyed her extended Bowman's Bottom family.

In addition to her mother and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Howard Blake Swimm (1930-1997) whom she married on June 30, 1950 in Iaeger, McDowell County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, McDowell County, WV, 1950, Page 31, Application Date: June 27, 1950); three infant daughters, Mildred Ann Swimm (1952-1952), Vickie Lynn Swimm (1958-1958) and Peggy Sue Swimm (1966-1966); two sisters, Margaret Mounts-Moore (Deceased) and Lucille Mounts-Smith (Deceased); a brother, Raymond Mounts (Deceased); and mother-and father-in-law, Aubrey Swimm (Deceased) and Versa Swimm (Deceased).

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lou Swimm-Cook and her husband, Larry Vaughn Cook, of Pineville and Rhonda Swimm-Loving and her husband, Howard L. Loving II, of Pineville; six grandchildren, Christopher Scott Cook, Lori Anne Payne, Rebecca Dare Blaine and her husband, David, Howard Lacy Loving III, Norman Wyatt Loving II and his wife, Nikole, and Clayton Vaughn Cook; ten great-grandchildren, Tyler and Anthony Cook, Kaden Loving, Daryan Thompson, Blase and Steele Payne, Adam, Carly and Brian Blaine, and Malorie Lusk; a brother, Howard Mounts and his wife Gladys; sisters-in-law, Helen Gillespie and Sandra Parker; brothers-in-law, Eugene "Bosco" Swimm and his wife, Margarette, and Ronald Parker; nieces, Debbie Marsh, Cheryl Willis, Tinna Bauer and Kay Gillespie; and cousins, Steve and Lou Moore, Brenda Witherspoon, Sue Ellen Sizemore and Patti Westerfield.

A celebration of Janice's life will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at the Pineville Presbyterian Church with Minister Steve Acord officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
