Was married October 14, 1852, in Russell Township, to Catherine, daughter of John and Cassandra Leaton, natives of Kentucky, who was born in this county March 24, 1834; their children's names are Charles B., Mary A., John L., William, Clay, Elizabeth and Rachel. Mr. Bridges is one of the largest land-owners in the county, and his residence the finest in Franklin Township. Beside attending to his farm, he is engaged in mercantile pursuits at Fincastle. Politically, is a Greenback Democrat, and in religion a Universalist. He is one of the most prominent, enterprising men in this county.
