William Irving Amoss, 92, of Taneytown, Md., died Sunday, Jan. 19, at Carroll County General Hospital.
He was the husband of Elizabeth B. Hurt Amoss.
Born in Howard County, Md., he was the son of the late George Irving and Cora Isabelle Hatfield Amoss.
Mr. Amoss was a longtime member of Carroll County Farm Bureau. He was a member of Tom's Creek United Methodist Church in Emmittsburg, Md., and a member of the Emmitsburg Senior Citizens.
He is survived by three sons, George W. Amoss of Westminster, Md., Melvin I. Amoss and Calvin L. Amoss, both of Taneytown, Md.; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. from the Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Md., with the Rev. James H. Farmer officiating. Interment will be in Keysville Union Cemetery in Keysville, Md.
Friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
