Wed.,Jan.31(4-4):J.C.Pendleton,a resident of Waco for many years, died on the 25th in Sulphur Bluff , Hopkins County .Born in Pendleton county ,Virginia ,now West Virginia,Nov.8.1816.He was 87 . He came to Texas in 1838 at Bastrop.He was a soldier in the Mexican War and in the Confederate Army . He came to Waco in 1876.
