William Rex "Archie" Beach 72, of Fortville, passed away September 3, 2004 at Hancock Memorial Hospital. He was born March 5, 1932 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Rex & Audrey Mast Beach. Archie was a 1956 graduate of Wabash College. He was an analytical chemist for Eli Lilly & Co. 33 years, retiring in 1993. His memberships included: Indianapolis Masonic Lodge #669, charter member of the 500 Club of the Murat Shrine, the 500 Old Timers Club and the Indiana Timing Association at Stout Field. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 7 at 2 p.m. in Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center -Broad Ripple, where friends may call Monday, September 6 from 2 to 8 p.m. where a Masonic service will be held at 3:30 p.m. and a 500 service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Archie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Bailey Beach; sons, William R., Jr. (Connie), Walter R. (Kathryn) & Wayne R. (Kim) Beach; daughter Amy R. Beach; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; niece Caron Behymer; nephews Kevin, James & Steven Esarey. He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Ruth Beach Esarey.
