COPPERAS COVE - Services with Masonic rites for Erwin Otto Jung, 95, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sheppard Chapel of Memories in Copperas Cove with the Rev. Randolph Nolen officiating and Chaplain Margaret Clemings assisting.

Interment with full military honors will follow at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery.

Jung died June 17, 2005, at the Central Texas VA Hospital in Temple.

He was born Dec. 5, 1909, in Passaic, N.J., to the Rev. August and Elizabeth Tubach Jung.

On Nov. 17, 2003, he married Linda Ashby in Copperas Cove.

Jung retired from the U.S. Army after 29 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean and the Vietnam wars.

He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Oak Leaf Cluster and Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars, National Defense Service Medal and U.S. President Unit Citation among other military awards.

Jung was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 595 for 55 years, the Shriners for 51 years, the National Sojourners for 51 years, the Retired Officers Association, and was a former member of the Copperas Cove Planning and Zoning Commission and the Housing Authority.

He was also a member of the Melrose-Carmel Presbyterian Church in Melrose Park, Pa.

Jung is survived by his wife, Linda A. Jung of Copperas Cove; a stepdaughter, Jodi Sanders Jones of Waco; a sister, Adele Hendricks of Philadelphia, Pa.; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; the Rev. G. Wendel Jung and Carl W. Jung, Erwin's twin; and three sisters, Dorothea Meyer, Irma Sassin and Elizabeth Poling Cunningham.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
