Anna Rosina was born in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, June 24 1746, the daughter of Balthaser Vetterman (alias Baltzer Fetterman) and Catherine Gertrude Ludwig. She married Heinrich Gernhardt October 16, 1770 in Alburtis, Lehigh County, PA. They first settled in Lehigh Township, Northampton County, PA. They moved to Greenwich Township, Berks County PA in 1795. They moved to their next and final settlement in Turbot Township, now Delaware Township, Northumberland County, PA in 1805. Their farm was known as The Sinking Spring.

They had ten children:
