Huntington, WV,
Passed away peacefully Saturday morning,
10-23-2010, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born
10-25-2916 in
Dunlow, Wayne Co., WV, he was a
Son of the late
Charles Marcum, Sr.
and
Goldie (Picklesimer) Marcum.
Ralph was a WW-II Veteran, having served with the US Navy in the Pacific Theater.
He was retired from Houdaille Industries and was a member of the Laborers Local No. 543 in Huntington.
Preceded by his beloved
Wife of 52 years,
Eva (Fortner) Marcum, along with
2 Brothers,
Charles Marcum, Jr., and
Roy Lee Marcum.
He was the loving father, grandfather, and uncle of his
Son,
Ralph (Sara) Marcum, Jr., and
2 Daughters,
Linda (Jim) McCallister, Huntington, WV, and
Kathy (David) Cathers, Huntington, WV; and
4 Cherished Grand-Daughters: Jamie (Ty) Harmon; Kayla (Andy) Stapleton; Courtney Cathers and Brianna Cathers; and a
Special Nephew,
Dale Barker;
4 Sisters,
Freedis Frye, Virginia Beach, VA;
Betty Bell, Grayson, KY;
Lucille McCall, Lavalette, WV;
Hazel Stroud, Grayson, KY; a
Brother,
Allen J. Marcum, Lavalette, WV; a
Sister-In-Law,
Louise Marcum, Kenova, WV; and
Several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was blessed to have special neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bias, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Preece.
