--Obituary: Courier Tribune, Thursday, 19 Oct 1922, Mrs Margaret Rucker

Margaret Dailey was born in Monroe County, Ohio on October 16, 1830 and departed this life Tuesday, October 10, 1922 aged 91 years, 11 months and 24 days. She was married to Louis Rucker March 29, 1849. He departed this life on January 28, 1907. To this union were born six children, three of whom preceded them in death. The following children survive: Frank Rucker, with whom "Grandma" made her home, Mrs. Kate Garver of Albuquerque, NM and Mrs. Lyda Minter of Ontario, California. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Rucker resided in Ohio until 1864 when they moved to Livingston County, Ill. And in 1865 to Missouri, coming to Seneca, Nemaha County, Kansas in 1869, shortly afterward to the farm northeast of Corning where they lived up to the time of their death. Grandma Rucker was converted and united with the Methodist church when quite young and lived a devoted Christian life ever since, always attending church whenever she was able to get out. She was an affectionate wife and mother, always looking to the best interests of those about her. She was a kind and obliging friend and neighbor, always willing to assist in the care of the sick and needy. She was very patient and uncomplaining all through her lingering illness.

The funeral was held at the home Wednesday afternoon, October 11th. Interment was in the Corning cemetery. The flowers given by the relatives and friends were very beautiful.
