"The death of Mrs. Jennie Andrews, mother of Alfred H. Andrews of this village, occurred on Thursday of last week at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, at the age of 87. A former resident of Johnson City, Mrs. Andrews had lived in Cooperstown for the past 10 years. She was born in Franklin on November 29, 1870, a daughter of Lyman and Katherine (Oles) Betts, and was married to Fred L. Andrews in 1888 at Franklin. His death occurred here two years ago. She was member of Otsego Chapter, No. 201 , Order of Eastern Star, of this village.

Besides her son mentioned above, she is survived by four other sons, Wilfred Andrews and Audley Andrews, both of Johnson City, Harry Andrews of Loveland, O., and Lewis Andrews, of St. Petersburgh, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. William Emerson of Maple Grove; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Barber Funeral Home in Johnson City, with burial in Vestal Hills Cemetery."
