Son of Samuel Overson and Armatha Skipper Blanton, husband of Lillie Jean.

LORIS - Mack Edison Blanton, age 73, died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at his home following an illness. Born December 25, 1936 in Loris, son of Mr. Samuel Overson Blanton and Mrs. Martha Skipper Blanton.

Mr. Blanton worked as a truck driver with Marlene Industries and also with Hughes-McDaniels Tractor Co. in Loris and was also a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Blanton of Loris; two sons, Glenn Blanton of Little River, SC and Don Lynn Blanton and wife, Barbara of Conway, SC; one daughter, Pam Lane and husband, Richard of Loris; three brothers, J. P. Blanton, Jack Blanton, both of Loris, and Bill Blanton of Newport News, VA; two sisters, Matha Lee Causey of Loris and Louise Doyle of Marion; half-brother, Leroy Sarvis of Loris; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

Mr. Blanton was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Joe Blanton and Hubert Blanton; half-brother, Clifton Sarvis; and sister, Mary Lou Blanton.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Bethany Baptist Church with committal services following at Bethany Cemetery. Pastor Robert Lewis and Reverend Barry Long will officiate services.
