Raymond H. Lundry, 90, of Oelwein, Iowa passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday morning, October 24, 2010 at Grandview Health Care Center in Oelwein.

Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Oelwein, with Rev. Tim Schoepf officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Maynard and for one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Interment: Long Grove Cemetery, Maynard, Iowa. Memorial Fund: First Baptist Church. Raymond Headley Lundry was born on January 25, 1920 on a farm near Cuba, Illinois, the son of Ross & Nellie (Headley) Lundry. He attended one room schools and graduated from Cuba High School in 1937. In 1942 Ray was united in marriage to Geneva Furniss. Geneva passed away in 1971. Ray was then united in marriage to Viola Caldwell in 1972.

Ray was a lifetime farmer, farming in Cuba, Canton and Fairview, Illinois before moving to Maynard, Iowa in 1956. In 1979 Ray and Viola moved to Oelwein and enjoyed wintering in Texas and Arizona.

Ray enjoyed family gatherings, hiking and traveling. He was a deacon at the Presbyterian Church in Maynard and at the First Baptist Church in Oelwein. He taught Sunday school, was a lifetime member of the IOOF and was a member of the Silveridge Hiking Club. He was a Sar Hybrid Representative for 15 years, was an Iowa Master Soybean Grower in 1976, was an Iowa Master Corn Grower in 1977 and served on the Maynard Coop Board of Directors.

Ray is survived by his Wife: Viola Lundry of Oelwein; 7 Children: Bessie Miller (George) Spicknall of Greene, Larry (Cindy) Lundry of Oelwein, Patty (Richard) Kruse of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Lou Ann (Neil) Pomeroy of Chaska, Minnesota, Barbara (Terry) Reisner of Powell, Wyoming, Raymond Lee (Denese) Lundry of Maynard & Sharon (Blake) Johnson of Ames; 22 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st Wife: Geneva on June 23, 1971; 3 brothers: Berlyn, Cecil & Russell; sister: Bernice Marvel, daughter-in-law: Kay Lundry, son-in-law: Dick Miller and great grandson: Timothy Westberry.
