Catherine Ann Boughman, was born near Carlisle, in Cumberland County, PA. Jan.16, 1824 and died at the age of 86, June 14, 1910 at the home of her son James, near Traer, Kansas. She is buried in Oberlin Cemetery. She was a devoted Christian.
From Pennsyvania, she moved to Ohio with her parents, where she met and married Elisha G. Decker in 1841 and moved with her husband to Illinois in 1842..
They also lived in Missouri where Elisha died in 1892.
To this union nine children were born 6 sons and 3 daughters.
Three girls and one son preceded her in death.
Left to mourn are: Sons Jacob, James, Elisha, Leonidas, and Joseph. Grandchildren, Greatgrandchildren and many friends.
