Harold "Hal" Thomas Boyd, 84, of Chillicothe, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, in Chillicothe.

He was born May 15, 1916, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Samuel E and Mary Patricia McKenzie Boyd.

Mr Boyd was a graduate of Paseo High School in Kansas City. he was a route salesman with Continental Baking, retiring in 1970, in Kansas City. Mr Boyd spent most of his lifetime in Kansas City, moving to Chillicothe in 1993. He was a member of St Columban Catholic Church in Chillicothe and Veterans of Foreign War, Post Number 8220, of Raytown [Missouri]. Mr Boyd served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946, serving in the South Pacific.

Survivors include three sons, Tom of Shawnee, Kansas, J Patrick of Kansas City, and Charles R of Nashville, Tennessee; a daughter, Barbara Diane Howell of Kansas City; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Graveside services and burial were held at 1:30 pm today (Friday, July 28, 2000) at the Leopolis Cemetery, Leopolis, Missouri.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman-Wagy-Gordon Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
