JUDITH GAP - Leonard Dale Grove, 74, of Judith Gap, an Air Force veteran and farmer, died of a heart attack Sunday at a Harlowton hospital.

His funeral is 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Perkins Funeral Home in Harlowton, with burial in Judith Gap Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife W. Ann Grove of Judith Gap; a son Stacy Grove of Judith Gap; brothers Elmer L. Grove of Nevada, Robert E. (Barbara) Grove of Buffalo and Carl W. (Cheryl) Grove of Casper, Wyo.; sisters Norma Parson of Longmont, Colo., Mildred Lemmon of Moore, Barbara (Pete) Echer of Hobson, Zella Turner of Arizona and Betty (Ralph) Brewington of Broadview; one grandson, Austin Grove; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leonard was born to Donald D. and Ila (Eaton) Grove on Sept. 18, 1934, in Harlowton. He grew up on the family farm near Judith Gap and attended Judith Gap School, graduating in 1953. In 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After basic training he was stationed at Fairchild Air Base in Spokane. He was later stationed at Etain Air Force Base in Etain, France, for three years. After he was discharged he attended Montana State College, graduating with a master's degree in agriculture in 1962. In 1962 he returned to the family farm.

Leonard married Winifred Ann Graves in Billings on Sept. 4, 1965. To this marriage, one son was born. Leonard was active in agriculture organizations within the state of Montana, serving six years on the Montana Woolgrowers Board of Directors. He served eight years on the Montana Board of Livestock as the sheep representative for the sheep industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers James, Skeets and Donald; and a sister, Alverta.
