Veteran Employe of Charles Moody Co. Dies Friday After Illness of a Month-Funeral Sunday.

George M. Kistler, for the past 25 years city salesman for the wholesale grocery firm of C. P. Moody & Co., died Friday morning at 11:15 o'clock at his home, 510 East Fourth street. He was the victim of a stroke of paralysis a month ago and had never regained consciousness.

Mr. Kistler was 53 years of age and a native of Iredell County. He had made his home in Charlotte for almost 30 years and became connected with C. P. Moody & Co. shortly after his removal here, being the oldest member of the concern in point of service.

Surviving is a widow, formerly Miss Mary Bryant, of Charlotte; a number of brothers, and one sister. The brothers are: J. W. and Neill Kistler, of Charlotte; H. A. Kistler, of McKinley, Tex., and T. W., B. G., Palmer, B. C. and G. C. Kistler, all of Mooresville. The sister is Mrs. J. R. Haynes, of Jackson Springs.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence, and will be conducted by Rev. W. B. Lindsay, pastor of the First A. R. P. Church, of which Mr. Kistler was an active member. Assisting will be Dr. W. W. Orr, pastor of East Avenue Tabernacle. The pallbearers will be: J. M. McLaughlin, Charles Moody, W. D. Hobbs, L. S. Sloop, W. J. Edwards and J. N. Ross. The interment will be in Elmwood.
