Mrs. Mary Anne (Gaylor) Ransom, 45, wife of Donald E. Ransom of Rt. 1, Stuarts Draft, died at 8:27 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 1981, in Waynesboro Community Hospital. She had been in declining health for several years. She was born March 10, 1936, on Rt. 5, Lexington, daughter of Mrs. Ruby Nicely Gaylor and the late Tate Gaylor.

She had retired from Genesco-LGreif. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and Lee Manor Extension Homemakers Club.

In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lois Clatterbaugh of Colorado Spring, Colo., Miss Janet Ransom of Bluefield, Mrs. Cheri Marion of San Diego, Calif., and Miss Susan Ransom at home, one grand-daughter, Nancy Marion, one grandson, Chad Clatterbaugh, three sisters, Mrs. Betty Allums of Cape Charles, Mrs. Eleanor Guest of Baltimore and Mrs. Phyllis Neal of Panama City, Fla; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Bryon T. Ransom, in 1973; and her father died in 1978.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Baptist Church by the Revs. Temple D. Myers and Julie Taylor. Burial will be in Greenville Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Calvin Hewitt, G. Donald Crosier, Robert E. Proffitt, bill Koiner, Sam Fitzgerald, John Rohr and H. A. Senger. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Brotherhood Sunday School Class of Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. tonight at Henry Funeral Home. tt is suggested that those desiring may make donations to the Special Missions Fund of Memorial Baptist Church, 224 Taylor St., Staunton, VA
