Donna Kay Green (68) resident of Calder, ID died peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 27, 2010 at her home in Calder, ID. She was born August 25, 1942 to Kenneth and Dorothy (Elya) Becktel at Cadillac, Michigan. Moved with her family to Calder, ID in 1945. She graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 1960. As a young woman, she worked for Carl Buell Law Offices. She later went to work for logging camps as a camp cook when Bonneville Power was putting power lines into the Portland, OR area. She married Don Green in January of 1965 at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church , St. Maries. As a young married couple, she and her husband operated pack and hunting camps for area hunters. She was a homemaker all her life. Her husband died 2006. She enjoyed raising Thoroughbred Race Horses and registered Japanese Akita's. She is survived by her daughter Donnie Anderson of Calder, ID Grandchildren Debra Dittman and D.J. Huling and great grandaughter Tyla Dittman. Also surviving are four brother-in-laws including Jim Green and his wife Pat of St. Maries and 4 sister-in-laws including Mary Becktel of St. Maries and Karen McQuade of Marble Creek, ID. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Gary Becktel. Graveside Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. At the Green Family Cemetery 3915 Northside Road, Calder, ID A gathering of family and friends will follow the services at the family home there.
