FULTON - Audie L. Clayton, 82, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born April 10, 1920, to Fred and Vera Smith Clayton. He was a member and former deacon of the Fulton Church of Christ. He was a carpenter. He enjoyed reading the Bible, watching sports on television and spending time with his family.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Emerson, Freddie Clayton and Rubel Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Tilden Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, of 56 years, Nell Webb Clayton of Fulton; a son, Ronnie Clayton and his wife, Shelia, of Fulton; a granddaughter, Cassondra Clayton of Fulton; two sisters, Sue Emmerson of Robertdale, Ala., and Ruby Emmerson of Fulton; a brother, Ruble Clayton of Dunlap, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Brenda Gaye and Judy Ann Clayton; two brothers, Paul Clayton and J.D. Clayton; and a sister, Hazel Gann.

Pallbearers will be Kim Clayton, Glen Eidson, Olum Hood, Don Clayton, Benny Davis, Richard Davis.

Visitation will continue until service time today.
