Mrs. Whitson died on Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998, at her residence.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1921, in Jackson County to the late Amos Arkley and Mary Wilmoth Allen. Mrs. Whitson was a member of Wingate Church of Christ in Nashville.
Her family includes a daughter, Louise Loftis of Cookeville; a son, Roger Whitson of Cookeville; four sisters, Susie Judd of Cookeville, Sattie Netherton and Lulie Stafford, both of Crossville, and Cora Fleming of Algood; a brother, Johnnie Allen of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Gary and Jimmy Loftis, Sherrie Carol Gilley, and Terrie Lee Dyer; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coran Dyer Whitson; and two brothers, Dillard and William Allen.
Bros. Walley Kirby and Dan Jones will officiate at the services.
