THORNTOWN – Martin L. Clouser, 85, former manager of the Thorntown Telephone Co., died in his home here Thursday after a long illness. He retired in 1946 after having been employed by the telephone company for 43 years. Born near Darlington, he was married twice. He was married in 1893 to Eliza V. Moore. In 1918, he was married to Goldie M. (Byroad) Pierson. He was a charter member of the Independent Telephone Association of Indiana and St. Joseph Catholic church at Lebanon.

Surviving with the widow are four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Fye, Clinton, Ohio, Mrs. Gertrude Goerler, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Martha Lea, and Miss Catherine Clouser, both of Akron, Ohio; a stepson, Charles Pierson, Mulberry; two brothers, Boyd O. of Indianapolis and Charles of Darlington, and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Callahan, Eastonville, Colorado.
