Sallie W. Hall lived in Columbia, Mo. She married in 1850, Robert Levi Todd (1822-98), son of Roger North (1797-1846) and Matilda Ferguson Todd (1801-71). Their children were Betty P. (1854-); Nathan H. (1857-post1940)(dsp) who married Elizabeth Freeman (1874-ante1940) and lived in Chicago; and Matilda Todd (1859-).

Sallie W. Hall's mother was Elizabeth Pope (c1787-1850), third daughter of Col. William (1745-1826) and Penelope Edwards Pope (1748-1825), who was born c1787, in Louisville, Ky. She married (1) in 1805, Gen. George Trotter (1778-1815), son of Lt. Colonel James (1753-1827) and Margaret Downey Trotter (1755-1816), of Lexington, Ky. He was a member of the Kentucky Legislature, 1809, 1811, and was the hero of the Battle of the Thames in 1813 where he commanded the leading infantry brigade. Their sons were John Pope (-1839) and James Trotter. General Trotter was also in the wholesale business of white lead and gunpowder with his father and brother. His father was a member of the Kentucky House, 1792, 1807, 1822, and Senate, 1800-05. Elizabeth Pope married (2) in 1822, Rev. Nathaniel Huston Hall (1785-1858), son of Rev. Randolph (1757-1821) and Sally Woodson Hall (1768-1832), of Franklin Co., Va. He was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Ky., 1823-46. They apparently had four children, William (d.inf), Florida Pope (1825-1911), Sallie W. (1829-63), and Penelope Pope Hall (1832-82) who married in 1853, Dr. William Copeland Philips (1823-1906).

Elizabeth Pope died February 26, 1850, and is buried in Columbia Cemetery, Boone County, Mo. with her (2) husband, Rev. Nathan Hall, who died June 22, 1858. Her (1) husband, General Trotter, died October 13, 1815, and was buried in the Trotter family vault located between 318 and 326 LaFayette Ave. in Lexington. The vault was removed in 1953, and the remains in the vault were moved to Millersburg Cemetery.
