Loraine Elizabeth Griffith passed into eternal rest during the afternoon of Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the age of 94 years.
She was born November 5, 1911 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Loraine was a charter member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Nederland, Texas. She was also a Girl Scout leader for 20 years and an active member of the Winnebago RV Clubs of Houston and Beaumont, Texas.
Loraine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward S. Griffith in 2001 and her son, Dr. Michael E. Griffith in 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Scott and husband, Jack; daughter-in-law, Karee Griffith; five (5) grandchildren, J. Duane Scott and wife, Holley, Tracy Moritz and husband, William, Michael K. Griffith and wife, Laurie, Dr. Jennifer Griffith, Daniel E. Griffith and wife, Megan; four (4) great grandchildren, Michael W. Griffith, Blake A. Scott, Brittany F. Scott, Jenny Elizabeth Lorraine Griffith; sister, Mary Martha Hendershott, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 1:00pm at Foundry United Methodist Church, 8350 Jones Road, Houston, Texas. A Graveside service and interment will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Crest Haven Memorial Park, Olney, Illinois.
