John W Neely 54 an International Paper Company employee died early Thursday morning in the Georgetown County Memorial Hospital after a serious illness of several months.
Funeral services were Friday afternoon in the chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating were Rev Melvin E Brown and Dr JM Kirkland. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery Annex.
Mr Neely was born in Georgetown County on March 21 1929 a son of the late William McQuide Neely and Mrs Magnolia Abrams Neely. He had lived his entire life in this area and was a member of Screven Baptist Church. At the time of his death Mr Neely was Process Specialist I in the Finishing and Shipping Department of International Paper Company.
Surviving are two sisters Mrs Rosa N Bassett of Georgetown and Mrs Mary Ella N Gallagher of Savannah Ga and several nephews and nieces.
