"HINTON - The funeral for Margie Eagle Arey, 79, of Rt.1, Hinton, will be conducted 2 pm Saturday at Mount Bethel Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Thomas Acker and the Rev. Gene Knicely. Burial will be in Mount Horeb Cemetery.
Mrs. Arey died of an apparent heart attack Wednesday evening at her home. She had been ill for six weeks since suffering an earlier heart attack.
She was born March 31, 1900 in Augusta County and was a daughter of the late Adinson and Lillie Foley Eagle. She was a member of Mount Bethel Church of the Brethren.
On September 8, 1921, she married Roy. J. Arey, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Dawn Smith of Harrisonburg and Gloria Showalter of Rt. 1 Hinton; two sons, Stanford Arey of Rt. 4, Harrisonburg, and Dr. Shelvin L. Arey of Bridgewater; six sisters, Mrs. Clark Showalter, Mrs. George Bowman and Mrs. Sam Smith, all of Harrisonburg, Mrs. Emory Weaver of Hinton, Mrs. Ed Shickel of Dayton and Mrs. Ira Baker of Staunton; a brother, Raymond Eagle of Harrisonburg; 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The body is at the McMullen Harrisonburg Funeral Home, where friends may call. The family will receive friends tonight at the Arey home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice."
