Mrs. Hattie Belle Lucas, 90, lifetime resident of the Mapleton vicinity, died Dec. 16, 1966 at Mercy Hospital.
She was born Nov. 20, 1876, at Mapleton, the daughter of John and Katie Brown Findley.
She was twice married. She first married Samuel McBride and later, in 1897, married Lewis Edward Lucas, who preceded her in death in 1939.
Mrs. Lucas was a member of the Christian Church.
She is survived by four sons, Floyd McBride of Mapleton; Lewis Edward Lucas, Staunton, Va.; Elton L. Lucas, 707 Lowman; and John C. Lucas, Mapleton; two daughters, Zeta Green, Route 2 and Fern Graham, 608 Lowman; one brother, William Findley, Route 5; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Konantz Chapel with Rev. Earl Bingham officiating. Burial will be in Mapleton Cemetery.
