Statesboro, Ga. - Mr. John Paul "Johnny" Barnes, age 56, died Sunday, August 22nd, 2010, at his residence. The Screven County native was the son of the late Davis C. Barnes and Bernice Parker Barnes Ramsey. He was a 1971 graduate of Statesboro High School and attended Georgia Southern College and later joined the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a carpenter and had been employed for many years with David Bobo Construction and Walsh Fabrications in Hardeeville, S.C. He loved his children and spending time on the ocean. Johnny was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving are his daughter, Heather Barnes of Statesboro; a son, Hunter Barnes of Statesboro; a brother, John Calvin Mills of Guyton; and two sisters, Betty Hendrix of Bloomingdale and Jewell Lanier of Statesboro.
A private family service will be held.
