Henry Petten 98 yrs old disappered in 1874 and was never found.It seems he was brought back to Rome from West Branch by a friend whom he had been visiting and left on Thomas St.saying he could find his way home to his son-in-law (John Cortland Golden's) home.One of the articles said He was quite deaf and speaks Holland Dutch and broken English. He was wearing a black coat,satin vest & dark pants with a strip on the sides.He had white whiskers and carried a cane.Friends and relatives apparently searched for him for five weeks and he was never found.
