Ruth Jane Watson, 76, of Jonesboro died Monday afternoon at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born at Lake City on April 28, 1934, to Riley and Virgie Pack Fields.

Ruth Jane was a retired school teacher for Cedar Park Elementary School in Trumann. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa teachers' society. She was also an after-school tutor at the Huntington Avenue Mission and was in several local bridge clubs. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

Her parents and her husband, Les Watson, preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Curt, Mike and Keith Watson: a daughter, Cindy Pearcy; two daughters-in-law, Cindy and Donna Watson; seven grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Kristen, Alyssa, Lesle, Jacob and Dalton Watson; and one great-grandchild, Maddox Watson.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Tippit officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were; Lynn Scott, Paul Brown, Steven Vidal, Robert, Jacob and Dalton Watson.

Honorary pallbearers were the Trumann lunch bunch.
